Hoy quiero contarte la historia de un conocido y adinerado matrimonio de mi ciudad, de Sevilla, que vivieron en primera persona una de las mayores tragedias del siglo XX. El hundimiento del Titanic. Te voy a contar con detalle la historia de Víctor Peñasco y María Josefa Pérez de Soto, y te mostraré documentos de la época (recortes de periódico y fotos).
En esta historia utilizaré el pasado simple y el pretérito imperfecto, así como una figura llamada presente histórico. ¡Verás cómo te acostumbras al uso de estos tiempos de forma rápida!
Today I want to tell you the story of a well-known and wealthy couple from my city, Seville, who experienced first-hand one of the greatest tragedies of the 20th century. The sinking of the Titanic. I will tell you in detail the story of Víctor Peñasco and María Josefa Pérez de Soto, and I will show you documents of the time (newspaper clippings and photos).
In this story I will use the simple past and the imperfect past, as well as a figure called the historical present. You will see how quickly you get used to using these tenses!
